Consciousness & Intent (2013)
In January 2013, Electric Fertilizer published "A Tribute to the Great Shift of 2012 and Beyond," a post exploring whether human consciousness or intent might affect plant and agricultural outcomes — drawing on Cleve Backster's plant-perception claims, Masaru Emoto's water-crystal work, a study linking Transcendental Meditation practice to reduced crime rates, and the concept of "chi" and other subtle-energy frameworks, including a passing mention of biodynamic agriculture.
The post also described a small honeybee experiment: labeling three of four hives with printed words ("Health," "Love," "Benevolence," "Peace") and leaving one hive unlabeled as a comparison. After three months, the author reported the labeled hives "seemed... significantly more stronger."
Why this is archived, not treated as evidence
This is the weakest-evidenced material in Electric Fertilizer's entire published history — and the original author said so himself. The post's own text acknowledges the honeybee comparison had a sample of four hives, "way too small" to draw a real conclusion from, and no hard measurements were taken. This page is never linked from Research, Claims, Mechanisms, or Experiments, and should not be treated as representing current Electric Fertilizer findings.
One clarification: biodynamic agriculture, mentioned in passing in the original post, is itself a real, mainstream sustainable-farming practice. This disclaimer applies to Electric Fertilizer's own speculative framing in this specific post — not to every practice the post happened to mention.
