The Plantricity System
In July 2012, Electric Fertilizer covered a plant-stimulation method called "Plantricity," developed by third-party experimenter David MacZura of BroadrOOt.com. The method connected an electrified container to a separate, paired container holding the plant's growing medium (or, in one variant, an aquarium) via switched DC current, testing it against pothos, peppers, a mushroom-growing medium, and aquarium fish.
MacZura's own published results claimed roughly doubled growth, greener leaves, increased mushroom growth, and reduced fish mortality in the treated group, compared to non-electrified pairs. Electric Fertilizer's post was a secondary summary of these claims with photos — not primary data Electric Fertilizer collected itself.
Why this is archived
This is genuinely useful for understanding Electric Fertilizer's early terminology and its interest in adjacent experimenters' work — it's where the "Plantricity" term entered EF's published vocabulary. But because Electric Fertilizer never ran this experiment and never independently verified the original source's data or its continued availability, it's archived with clear attribution rather than presented as EF's own evidence.
