HarvestStorm Pulsed-DC Expansion Unit
When passive atmospheric collection isn’t enough — or when your growing environment demands precise, active field control — the HarvestStorm Expansion Unit delivers.
Why Active Pulsed DC?
Passive atmospheric collectors work excellently in open outdoor environments where plants have continuous exposure to the Earth’s natural charge gradient. But greenhouses, indoor setups, shaded areas, and dense canopy situations reduce or eliminate that natural atmospheric exposure.
The Expansion Unit solves this by actively generating and delivering a controlled pulsed DC field directly through electrode leads in your soil. You control the field. You control the protocol. You control when your plants receive stimulation.
What the Research Shows
Pulsed DC stimulation of plant root zones has been documented across multiple controlled studies:
- Active electric field exposure increases biomass and yield across multiple crop species
- DC fields influence mineral and nutrient transport through electroosmotic mechanisms in plant tissue
- Weak pulsed electric fields enhance stem water enrichment — relevant for drought resistance and water-use efficiency
These aren’t anecdotal results — they reflect published, peer-reviewed findings on the physiological responses of plants to controlled electrical stimulation.
System Integration
| Use Case | Recommended Setup |
|---|---|
| Outdoor large garden | Atmospheric Collector (primary) + Expansion Unit (supplemental) |
| Greenhouse or polytunnel | Expansion Unit (primary driver) |
| Indoor grow room | Expansion Unit (sole driver) |
| Container gardening | Expansion Unit with single electrode pair per zone |
| Row crops (outdoor) | Atmospheric Collector + Expansion Unit for extended rows |
Getting Started
- Place electrode leads in soil approximately 6–8 inches deep, spaced 12–18 inches apart
- Select your preferred protocol (start with Pulsed DC at default interval)
- Connect power adapter and confirm indicator light
- Run for the first two weeks, then adjust interval based on plant response
- Add additional electrode lead sets to expand coverage to adjacent beds
